This morning we had to say goodbye to our dear sweet Aussie girl, Pepper. She was 14 years old.
Pepper was a rescued aussie from a MO puppymill.
Since Sydney's passing last Fall, our daily walks occurred the same time every evening and if, when that time arrived, I was watching TV or working on the computer, she would come to me and woof.
If I ignored her or told her, "in a minute!", she would woof louder. She was also a rub-junky and could get quite pushy when she wanted attention. We taught her to place her head on your knee if she wanted to get scratches. If you were too slow to respond or if you stopped, she would exhale loudly and march her front feet as if to say, "uh, hello! You need to pet me now..."
Her nickname was "Juicer"...she was a very sloppy drinker and would hit you up for rubs just after having a good drink. We would exclaim, "you juiced me!".
It was determined that Pepper either had cancer that moved to her brain or she had a stroke of some sort. Her mobility declined over night and this morning she was unable to eat.
She loved to run and jump and chase squirrels.
She is now in peace running with Sydney and Miranda and playing tug with her fleece toys.
