I had a great experience dealing with Melissa and her style of training. She is very kind, patient, thoughtful and works very hard to figure out the best personalize training for your dog’s needs! I recommended her to several people and they were all happy as well. She comes to your home and is always punctual.Again would highly recommend Melissa's style of training......my dog loved her!!!!

Melissa has done an outstanding job of addressing a unhappy dog-person relationship within the confines of a very tight time schedule, approaching the situation with tact, creativity and respect for everyone involved. She has helped to diffuse tensions and offered workable solutions and techniques to aid dogs and people develop a trusting and confident bond. Not only did we see great progress in a matter of two days, but Melissa has offered long-term skill sets that we can carry into the future. The Behavior Session Review and Training Reminder emails are particularly helpful!

Loki (our 10 month yorkie puppy)is a different dog. He listens and we have had only one accident in the house. He is doing great. We have been singing your praises since you left!

Melissa,
I just wanted to say thank you. Your session was so great, and Edward is really responding. He is already not getting as upset when he hears something outside. He will make a small, almost fake bark and then almost automatically turns to me and comes when I tell him to. He doesn't escalate hardly at all any longer. And, he has stopped growling at me when I take things away, like his bones that he doesn't eat. Thank you so much for your help. We definitely need to do more work when visitors come over, but I am very encouraged by the results in only a few short days.

We found ourselves the adoptive parents of young Lizzy a few months ago. She was apparently abandoned on our street with miraculous timing - between the deaths of our two very old dogs in a two week time period. We were devastated and Lizzy's entry into our world unannounced was a little spark of sunshine. But....it's been a long 13 years since we had a puppy and Lizzy's exuberance and unending energy has its challenges. We were put in contact with Melissa by a friend and signed up for three puppy training classes at our house. Melissa was fantastic. She was 100% positive with Lizzy and with us....no criticism, just lots of positive reinforcement and great ideas. We'll probably sign up for more classes, as there is lots to learn in this new puppy world. Thanks, Melissa!

Melissa,
We all enjoyed having you come and help us! ( Me really! ) It really helped take a lot of my frustration and stress level down. I went from extreme frustration on the potty training to a much calmer place of knowing this is going to happen. And seeing the progress in the short amount of time. Chester and I have so much fun working on the lessons. I was so happy to see that after the first meeting that Chester and I were catching on to the training. You really helped make this fun and easy to do. I have to say you have such a wonderful calm energy and Chester and Hairy the cat loved it when you came over. Thank you for helping Chester and I make this journey of a great bond together for years to come.

I am very pleased with Paxton’s training. Melissa certainly has a gift working with animals and I will be recommending Melissa to all of my “Pet Loving” friends and family.
Hi Melissa,
I love receiving the newsletters & they are very helpful. I really appreciate you sending them.
Paxton continues to improve. We still have issues now & then, but overall he is doing great. I am very pleased. Most of the problems are me not being prepared, not noticing dogs coming, etc. He pays so much more attention to me. I love it & I enjoy that sweet face looking up at me.
Just had a funny thing happen at Easter. We were at my sister’s & having an Easter Egg hunt. There were little kids looking for Easter eggs & of course Paxton was right in the middle of all the kids. I put some dog treats in an Easter egg for Paxton. My cousin was talking to her 14 month old baby & was trying to teach him to pick up his toys on the patio. My cousin said “Good Boy” when the baby picked up his toys. Paxton heard “Good Boy” & ran over to my cousin, sat up & was waiting for his treat. I laughed so hard, so see Paxton is certainly improving. He is such a joy in my life as well as for my family. Take care, Betty E.
Hi Melissa, thanks for checking in with us. Everyone, including Toby, is doing just fine. Toby has become much more responsive and well mannered after our last session. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us!

Melissa,
Thanks again for everything. The training was great! You really trained us more than Peachy, hahaha! We really were not sure about having any kind of training but it really helps and we are so glad about our Peachy how obedient she is getting. My mom came to visit and could not believe how nice Peachy was. Thanks again! Lorena and Miguel
Being a first time dog owner after having several cats, I was a little worried about how to raise/train my new 10 week old best friend, Cooper. I figured the best way to train him would be with an at-home trainer because I felt it would be more beneficial for my dog to learn in his own environment. I stumbled upon Melissa Knox's website. Melissa provided me with an abundance of her knowledge and expertise in dog training. Her interaction with Cooper was excellent and he immensely enjoyed her every visit. Cooper learned every command I wished for him. He can sit, lay down, stay, shake, high five, low five, walk on the leash, heel, and quiet down when told. Not only that, he is potty trained and no longer chews on anything but his own toys. I couldn't have asked for a better experience with a trainer. I truly believe that there is not a better trainer out there in the Metroplex. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone in need of a trainer.

Thank you so much for coming to my house to train Mattie and me. I was very impressed with you and your enthusiasm. Mattie and I cannot wait to come to one of your group classes. Thank you so much for your positive impact. Lynn D.
It's been 9 years since we last had a puppy; the memories of chewing, biting, potty training and endless energy were long forgotten. We reached out to Melissa when Aero was 8 weeks to see if she could help us make him a little more focused and enjoyable to be around. After our first session, we were absolutely amazed and realized how much potential our puppy had - we just needed some guidance in getting him there. Melissa's approach to understanding our dog and rewards based training has been a lifesaver. Practice and consistency are key; in our busy household, we struggled with this, but Melissa's techniques have allowed us to incorporate training opportunities into everyday life and make it a fun family experience. We recently brought home a Scottish Terrier puppy named Charlie and were looking for help in getting him trained. We received information about Melissa from our vet. From our initial visit with Melissa we were blown away with how well Charlie did with the training methods she taught us. We are a huge supporter of Melissa's methods and would recommend her to anyone interested in having a well trained family member. Thank you, Melissa, for all your assistance. Kent W.
Hi Melissa! I will be sending some pictures of Daisy with our now 18 month old Andrew. Just reminds me of what a great trainer you are. I never imagined with my hyper Daisy that jumped on everyone that she would one day be this sweet. She LOVES Andrew! We have also never had another problem with our little dog Zack. I think when he realized Andrew would feed him all of his snacks he decided it would be better to be little buds with him. We love reading your monthly news letters. It's always such great info and reminders.

Hi! This is Terri Gillette and u came to our house I think sometime around October of last year to help us stop or control the fighting between our two Shi Txu's. Well, I wanted to let u know that finally after all this time, we are able to let Bella off the leash. Apparently it was her hormones after all. Of course there is still some jealousy on both sides, but I'm hoping to work that out with somr manners. Although, between Bella and Biddy, I think Bella will always be queen B! It's just her nature. LoL! But I wanted you to see how totally sweet they actually could be! Thanks for the time and trouble u took.
Nixon is doing well! I took him up to where I work last Friday to meet some of my co-workers, and he behaved so well! He didn't nibble or jump on anyone! One little boy was walking out of the hospital. He couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 years old, and he walked right up to Nixon and started petting his nose and Nixon just licked his face! It was so cute! Anyways, all that to say, we really appreciate everything that you taught us. We would love to work with you to fine-tune Nixon's learning and to teach him more target and clicker training!
