AKC's Canine Good Citizen®

Pets & Their People Dog Training, LLC can help you and your pet prepare and practice for the AKC's
Canine Good Citizen®
test. Please read below for more information about the program.

From the AKC's Canine Good Citizen® website:

Started in 1989, CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at
home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible
pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs.

All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
Before taking the Canine Good Citizen test, owners will sign the Responsible Dog Owners Pledge. After signing
the Responsible Dog Owners Pledge, owners and their dogs are ready to take the CGC Test. Items on the
    Canine Good Citizen Test include:

Test 1: Accepting a friendly stranger
Test 2: Sitting politely for petting
    Test 3: Appearance and grooming
Test 4: Out for a walk (walking on a loose lead)
